About Us
Empowering Children and Families for a Better Tomorrow
Better Tomorrow Today empowers children and youth in Kenya’s tea-growing communities. Through education, mentorship, and community support, we help children stay in school, build skills, and create brighter futures—while advocating for fairness, equality, and stronger families.

Our Story
Better Tomorrow Today was founded in 2020 by Joseph Njenga an activist, youth leader, project manager, and film producer from Limuru, Kenya’s highland tea-growing region. Born into a family of tea field workers, Joseph spent his childhood on the plantations and experienced firsthand the challenges faced by children and families in these communities.Recognized early for his talent in writing, music, and art, Joseph was given a sponsored education, an opportunity that transformed his life and inspired him to give back. For nearly a decade, he devoted his time, resources, and energy to mentoring children, supporting orphanages, and helping young people in the tea fields access education and guidance. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when schools were closed indefinitely, Joseph and a group of friends came together to keep children engaged, safe, and learning. They offered tutoring sessions, games, creative activities, and meals, creating a safe space for children who might otherwise be idle or vulnerable to harmful influences. What began as a small emergency response grew into Better Tomorrow Today, a lasting organization dedicated to empowering children and youth through education, mentorship, and community engagement. Today, the organization continues to work directly with children, parents, and the wider community while advocating for fair wages, equal treatment of workers, and the protection of women’s rights.Through consistent support and creative programming, Better Tomorrow Today is helping children stay in school, develop skills, and envision brighter futures, while fostering stronger, more equitable communities in Kenya’s tea-growing regions.
